Yosemite Valley is located about 215 miles south east of San Francisco.  Visitors should spend at least one night in order to see the incredible sights in and around the Yosemite Valley. This itinerary includes Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove of Big Trees during the months of June to October. 

After spending the day with a lot of people in Yosemite Valley you will be pleasantly surprised with comfortable relaxing quiet surroundings at WAWONA Hotel or TENAYA Lodge  far away from the crowds.

Day 1: Pick up from any downtown hotel in central San Francisco area between 6:15 and 6:45. Direct motor coach leaves San Francisco around 7:00 going through Livermore Valley and over Altamont Pass. With a short stop en route, arrival at Yosemite Park Big Oak Flat entrance is at about 12:00. Dropping in to Yosemite Valley you see magnificent sights.  Driving along south side of Merced River you see The Half Dome and waterfalls during winter, spring and summer months. The motor coach drops you at Yosemite Lodge by 1:30.  Around 2:30 you are met by Yosemite Sightseeing Tours driver at the lobby. Departing Yosemite Village and the Yosemite Valley we head up to the Glacier Point area at 7,214’ above sea level. From here you can see into Yosemite Valley, Little Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, Clouds Rest, Vernal and Nevada Falls and much, much more. You will have time to walk out to the point, where you can gaze down from over 7,000’ to the valley floor. Continue to Wawona Hotel reaching Tenaya Lodge by about 5:30.

Day 2: Starting at 9:00 a.m. pick up at Tenaya and Wawona the morning begins with a stop at the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias located near the South Gate of Yosemite. Time to walk around these massive trees and enjoy the solitude that these silent sentinels have to offer. On into Yosemite Valley, making ‘photo stops’ at scenic view points, we can see El Capitan, Bridalveil and Yosemite Falls, Sentinel Rock, Half Dome and more……. eventually making our way into the village area and Yosemite Lodge. Free time for lunch at the full service food court. Or you can take the shuttle to the National Park Headquarters for a look at the displays and exhibits of park history returning by 3:30.

The return trip starts with pick up at Yosemite Lodge at 3:30. A brief stop is made at about 6:00. Coming over the Altamont Pass we drive through Livermore Valley arriving San Francisco by 8:30. You are dropped off at the hotels from where you were picked up. There can be traffic delays or late departure - please do not expect to catch a flight at night. If you are going on to San Francisco International Airport it is best to take a shuttle or taxi from the first stop.

Package tours staying at Wawona and Tenaya are available all year.               

June to October 31 tours operate daily going to Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove of Big Trees. November to May as those areas are closed you spend time in Yosemite Valley.

2 day package consists of: A) Transportation from San Francisco to and from Yosemite Valley by S F Sightseeing using a large motor coach. B) Yosemite Sightseeing Tours with a small motor coach to Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove of Big Trees. C) Park entrance fee.  Plus D) Room including tax.
